Qiviut Trap ?

Qiviut - (KIV-ee-ut)

Adult female musk ox - (Picture from page 9, Winter 2006 Interweave Knits) article by Linda Cortright describes something like a Qiviut Trap --

"It's one thing to brush a goat or shear a sheep; it's quite another to hand-comb an 800 pound animal that bears a striking resemblance to a mastodon. . . . The musk ox is placed in a metal-framed "squeeze chute" that provides a controlled environment designed to ensure safety for both comber and creature . . ."

"Although the world population of musk oxen is estimated at 250,000, only 150 animals live in captivity, including zoos and research facilities . . ."

No wonder it is called "Arctic Gold!"
