Good news! My "baby sister" is coming to visit. (from Florida) Haven't seen her in a year. She called tonight and said she'd be here tomorrow! But she said it depended on whether their neighbors could keep their dog (an extremely beautiful , unusually slender, frisbee catching Australian Shepherd.) I don't quite understand what that has to do with it. She knows she can bring the dog.
Oh, I am very excited and will be so happy to see her.
I'm still working on the socks and think there may be enough yarn to finish them. I've decided to keep them since the yarn is not machine washable. Not everybody wants to hand wash their socks. I don't either. I didn't realize that the yarn was "hand wash only" until I had the socks well under way. Live and learn.
The book (Crichton's NEXT) arrived a couple of days ago and I started it. At the beginning, he says "This novel is fiction, except for the parts that aren't." After 100 pages, I was infuriated about that! I want to know which parts are NOT fiction . . . as there are so many outrageous things described . . . if even 20% of them are true, this is a far far stranger world than I ever thought possible.

NOW I want to read the book. Can I borrow it when you're done?
Ask Pearl if she wears the flip-flop socks. Meredith hasn't worn the pair I gave her, it's been too cold for flip flops. She can't wait till it warms up a bit.
Yes, she has worn them, but same thing in Florida, too cold recently. She just left this morning, with Beth and her two children (about 6 and 8) We had a really good visit.
I have almost finished the other socks (they are called trail socks, I think) Just have to get out directions for kitchener stitch and sew up the toes!
